Ban on Age Discrimination in service provision - advice document

The new Age Discrimination Act comes into force across the UK from 1 October 2012.

You can find a link to HM Government's advice document at the foot of this page. The guidance is aimed at holiday providers, hotels and letting properties.

The legislation makes it necessary for most tourism business to assess whether or not they currently apply some form of restriction by age on any group 18 years and over.

If they do, then it is up to them to look at what they do in detail and to either stop doing it, or to work out whether there is a genuine risk of challenge, and to therefore to consider whether the risk is worth taking.

The advice document includes contacts and links for further information.
